The Boomers' strong second half against Greece, even in defeat, proved vital in qualifying for the next round.

Australia has advanced to the Quarter-Finals at the Paris Olympics, with a three-point win to Canada over Spain ultimately securing the Boomers' qualification.

Despite just one win from their three games, Brian Goorjian's team went through on point difference, ahead of Greece and Spain.

The Boomers' strong second half against Greece, even in defeat, proved vital, leaving them with the superior point difference of the three teams with one win (Australia, Spain, Greece).

Australia will now go back to the drawing board in a bid to bounce back from two straight losses.

"The first half was diabolical," Goorjian said of the performance against Greece.

"The first half was 'hero ball', head dropping, poor defence, that all circulated.

"The second half was huddles, talk, grit, ball movement.

"We had many opportunities in the second half to win the game with good shots, with good looks, and the ball didn't go in.

"We gave ourselves an opportunity to win from a dire situation."

Dyson Daniels provided a scare during the third quarter, falling awkwardly on the knee he injured earlier this year.

He left the court and headed to the change rooms for treatment, but returned to play a key role late.

"A little twist, a little scare ... but it feels good, so I'll be right," Daniels said.

The Boomers' Quarter-Finals opponents will be decided at the conclusion of games in Groups B and C.
