Alex Wilson scored the game-winning two-pointer in an upset over the German team for the Gangurrus.

Australia's women's 3x3 team, the Gangurrus, have claimed their first win at the Paris Olympics, defeating Germany 21-19.

The Aussies bounced back from a disappointing first-up loss against Canada, with strong performances from Alex Wilson (8 points, 5 rebounds) and Marena Whittle (9 points, 3 rebounds), with Anneli Maley dominant on the boards (2 points, 7 rebounds).

It was a history-making effort from the Gangurrus, with their first ever victory at an Olympic Games.

Wilson scored the game-winning two-pointer in an upset over the German team.

"I live for these types of moments," Wilson told olympics.com.au.

"You practice growing up, and as you get older, they are the type of shots you want to take. I felt confident taking the shot to win."
