Three-time Olympian and Boomers legend Luc Longley believes Ben Simmons needs to make a final decision on whether he wants to represent Australia at the upcoming FIBA World Cup

Three-time Olympian and Boomers legend Luc Longley believes Ben Simmons needs to make a final decision on whether he wants to represent Australia at the upcoming FIBA World Cup – for the sake of the rest of the squad.

Head coach Brian Goorjian continues to leave the door ajar for Simmons’ return to the international setup. Should he elect to put his name forward for selection it could be the first time the Brooklyn forward has represented his country since 2014.

“My message is that Ben just needs to say 'yes' or 'no',” Longley told News Corp.

“They [the Boomers] don’t need to be carrying questions into their preparation.

“The guys in the team want to win a medal and they know Ben can help.”

The Boomers will participate in a ‘Boomers vs World’ round-robin tournament against Venezuela, Brazil and South Sudan ahead of the World Cup – where they have been drawn in a tough group alongside Germany, Japan and Finland.
