Green available for Boomers opener

Friday, August 25, 2023
Josh Green is available to play at the Boomers’ World Cup opener.
Josh Green has confirmed he is ready to play on Friday night’s World Cup opener against Finland, after suffering a minor ankle injury over France.
The Dallas Mavericks star went down in the second quarter of Australia's World Cup warm-up game against France. He was then sidelined to rest his ankle in the Boomers' 86-81 win over Georgia.
“I’ll be ready to go Friday, I’ll be good,” Green told ESPN Insider Olgun Uluc.
“I practiced fully, the team is looking ready to go.”

After confirming he is ready to play against Finland on Friday night, Green was thankful he was able to play some minutes over South Sudan ahead of the tournament.
“I’m looking forward to it, I played my first game against South Sudan. I’m happy I got the cob-webs out of those games, now looking forward I’m ready to go,” the 22-year-old said.
“I know the areas that I can help out the team and how I can get them going.”

The Boomer swent 4-1 in their World Cup exhibition games, and will face Finland tomorrow night at 6:00pm AEST.
Green said they’re confident in the lead up with their success through the warmup games, but leaves space for improvement.
“It shows how we fight back in games….for us, we know we have a lot to improve on and we’re happy with how the game went,” he said.
“In saying that, we got the win but there’s also a lot to work on."
