Boomers Team Named for FIBA WC Qualifiers

Basketball Australia has named the final 12-man Boomers roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers to be held in Okinawa, Japan later this month.
Basketball Australia has named the final 12-man Boomers roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers to be held in Okinawa, Japan later this month.
Six NBL players have been included in the team, including Illawarra Hawks players Emmett Naar, Akoldah Gak and Alex Mudronja alongside current NBL development players Kyle Zunic (Perth Wildcats), Jaylin Galloway (Sydney Kings) and David Okwera (Melbourne United).
They are joined by former NBL players Nick Kay, Rhys Vague and Angus Brandt who are playing in Japan and Craig Moller (Germany).
Emerging 17 year-old NBA Global Academy talent Tyrese Proctor and Makuach Maluach (Finland) round out the team.
Rob Beveridge will lead the team with Brian Goorjian focusing on the NBL season with the Hawks while Perth Wildcats assistant Mike Kelly will also join the team.
Beveridge pointed to the blend of experience and youth being a strength for the Boomers.
“We are really pleased with the final team of 12 that we have selected for the games against Chinese Taipei and Japan. We have a blend of players that have international playing experience as well as a group of up and coming players with huge potential. I’m super excited to be reunited with Boomer Nick Kay who will take on a senior role as a leader of this group.”
