Star Australian centre Aron Baynes will work out with NBA teams this week, less than a year after his career-threatening injury suffered at the Tokyo Olympics.

According to ESPN, Baynes will be put through his paces by several NBA teams in Las Vegas, as he aims to relaunch his career.

"It's a remarkable comeback and a testament to all the hard work he's put in," Daniel Moldovan, Baynes' agent, said.

Baynes suffered a fall during the Olympics which resulted in a serious spinal injury. The 35-year-old has regained his strength via rehab and is now ready to get back on the court.

He was spotted courtside at Brisbane Bullets games this season, with rumours of an NBL contract constantly swirling.

Baynes has played nine seasons in the NBA, most recently with the Toronto Raptors in 2020/21.
