Wanted man Clark assessing NBL options

Friday, February 2, 2024
While Gary Clark has admitted to falling in love with the Illawarra Hawks, he's keeping his signing options open.
It’s coming to the time of the season where a number of high-level talents are weighing up their futures heading into NBL25 and beyond, and Illawarra’s Gary Clark is set to be one of the most sought-after players once he hits free agency.
Clark has starred in the Hawks’ resurgence under Justin Tatum and has thrown himself into All-NBL contention. The former NBA forward has averaged over 16 points and seven rebounds per game as the Hawks have surged into Finals contention.
Clark told The Illawarra Mercury he’s currently weighing up his options for next season, but has fallen in love with the city of Wollongong.
“My agent said for me to put my thinking cap on because he has had all these different calls each week about teams overseas and about the club here,” Clark said.
“And before I came here there were a couple of other teams in the NBL that reached out."
The Hawks will next take on the Bullets on Saturday at 5:30pm AEDT, live on ESPN via Kayo.
