REPORT: Bannan set for free agency

Wednesday, March 12, 2025
Josh Bannan averaged 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds as one of the most exciting prospects in the NBL this season.
Emerging talent Josh Bannan is set to become a free agent, according to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc.
Bannan has spent the last two seasons at the Brisbane Bullets, following three years in college with the Montana Grizzlies.
"Josh Bannan has informed the Brisbane Bullets that he’s declining his player option, sources told ESPN. He now becomes a free agent," Uluc posted on X.
The 23-year-old’s signature is sure to be in high demand, having averaged 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds as one of the most exciting prospects in the NBL this season.
"It’s worth keeping a very close eye on the Tasmania JackJumpers in the Bannan sweepstakes; there’s a considerable amount of mutual interest. Melbourne United is another team preparing to show interest, but all eyes will be on the JackJumpers’ pursuit of the Australian forward," Uluc continued.
Bannan worked out with several NBA teams in the lead-up to last year’s Draft, and enjoyed valuable experience with the Los Angeles Clippers during Summer League.
His departure follows that of head coach Justin Schueller, who mutually parted ways with the club in February.
