Tasmania v Adelaide pre-season games cancelled

The Adelaide 36ers have cancelled their trip to Tasmania for a two-game pre-season series against the JackJumpers, after their travels were interrupted by inclement weather.

The JackJumpers will now hold an intra-squad game on Sunday, followed by a meet-and-greet with players, featuring insights from coach Scott Roth.

The 36ers released a statement as follows:

Adelaide 36ers’ two-game NBL pre-season road trip to Tasmania has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

The team were en route to Tasmania on Saturday, for games in Ulverstone on Sunday and Launceston on Tuesday, but were diverted to Melbourne due to weather forecasts.

GM of Basketball Matt Weston said when the club was informed travelling to Tasmania was not assured on Sunday the decision was made to return to Adelaide

“It’s really disappointing that the weather has stopped this trip from going ahead. The team were looking forward to playing their first two pre-season matches,” Weston said.

The team will be back on the training court on Sunday in preparation for the club’s next pre-season game against Brisbane Bullets in Mount Gambier on Wednesday, September 4.

The JackJumpers will need to make alternate arrangements  their pre-season preparations, with the games against Adelaide their only planned hit-outs ahead of the Blitz in September.
