The player: Keandre Cook (G) BRI $313,900
After starting NBL25 slow, Keandre Cook has started to shine for the Brisbane Bullets. Cook was the top scorer for Brisbane in their three-point loss against the Tasmania JackJumpers. He recorded 23 points and a massive 5 steals, earning 40 SuperCoach points for the game. He backed this up on Sunday in a massive win against the Perth Wildcats, scoring 17 points and ending the round with 68 SuperCoach points.
The player: Bryce Cotton (G) PER $323,700
After five weeks on the sidelines, Bryce Cotton was the most anticipated return of Round 9. Cotton was back to his usual self in a big win against the South East Melbourne Phoenix, scoring a massive 33 points and sinking 13 of 14 free throws. This effort was enough for 46 SuperCoach points. He had a slower game against the Brisbane Bullets, recording only 13 points in the loss and finishing the round with 71 SuperCoach points.
The player: Parker Jackson-Cartwright (G) NZ $417,900
After being a staple in many teams throughout the season, owners of Parker Jackson-Cartwright were counting on a big performance during a single-header weekend. Unfortunately, he delivered his lowest SuperCoach score of the season, recording just 25 points. Despite playing against the worst-rated defence in NBL25, the Cairns Taipans, he struggled from the field, shooting just 27 per cent.
The player: Kendric Davis (G) ADL $435,300
Kendric Davis has been a scoring machine since joining the NBL, and Round 9 was no exception. The dynamic Adelaide 36ers guard exploded for 30 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds in a loss to Melbourne United, earning a season-high 62 SuperCoach points. As a result, Davis is now the second most expensive player behind teammate Montrezl Harrell, priced at $435,300. He will be a costly addition when Adelaide’s double-round schedule begins in Round 11.
The player: Casey Prather (G/F) BRI $228,400
Coaches who brought in Casey Prather for Brisbane’s favourable schedule had mixed feelings after Round 9. Prather started well against the Tasmania JackJumpers, recording 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists for a total of 28 SuperCoach points. However, he did not suit up for the second game against the Perth Wildcats due to a hip flexor injury. Owners will hope Prather gets healthy soon, as Brisbane has eight doubles across the next nine rounds of NBL25.
The player: Kristian Doolittle (F) PER $307,700
Kristian Doolittle, the most popular captain choice for Round 9, struggled to meet expectations, recording only 34 SuperCoach points across Perth’s two games. Doolittle started with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in the win against South East Melbourne for 31 points. However, he missed the second half of the loss to Brisbane, recording just 0 points, 1 assist, and 1 rebound for 3 points. Owners will hope the FIBA break allows Doolittle time to recover.
The player: Tyrell Harrison (C) BRI $301,800
Tyrell Harrison, another popular captain choice, also frustrated owners by failing to meet his usual high standards. He started the round with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists for 21 SuperCoach points in the loss to the Tasmania JackJumpers. Early foul trouble in the win against Perth limited his minutes, but junk time salvaged his performance. He recorded 10 points and 7 rebounds for another 21 points, finishing Round 9 with a total of 42 SuperCoach points.
The player: James Batemon (G/F) BRI $277,500
James Batemon was the star of Round 9. After scoring 15 points in the loss to the Tasmania JackJumpers, coach Justin Schueller moved him back into the starting lineup against Perth due to Prather’s injury. This decision proved brilliant, as Batemon scored a record-breaking 51 points in the modern 40-minute era, earning 67 SuperCoach points for the game. Combined with his earlier performance, Batemon ended Round 9 with a round-best 83 SuperCoach points.
