Ninnis released as 36ers coach

Mike Wells is Adelaide's new coach, after the departure of Scott Ninnis.
The Adelaide 36ers have announced club management met with Scott Ninnis this morning to inform him he has been released from his role as Head Coach of the 36ers with immediate effect.
Mike Wells has subsequently been appointed as Adelaide Head Coach for NBL25.
The 36ers will make a full statement in due course including potentially a new role within the club for Ninnis.

Ninnis was brought in as the Sixers’ interim coach midway through last season, coaching 15 games and leading Adelaide to an 8-7 record.
He signed a two-year deal with the club as coach in February.
Wells was announced as the 36ers’ lead assistant coach in June but will now take up the senior position.
He has been involved in the NBA system as an assistant coach from 1995-2024 with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets.
Wells also has strong experience in the Team USA system.
The 36ers’ campaign begins on September 22 against the Sydney Kings at HoopsFest.
