Hools is Hearing ... MVP candidate set for NBL return?

Monday, August 26, 2024
Could a two-time All NBL First-Team member and MVP candidate be in line for a return to Australia?
With most NBL25 rosters filling up, there aren’t too many spots left around the league for new additions.
But could a two-time All NBL First-Team member and MVP candidate be in line for a return to Australia?
Hools is Hearing ... former New Zealand Breakers and Brisbane Bullets star Lamar Patterson is set to trial with NBL clubs in the coming weeks.
The 33-year-old is said to be fit and firing and just finished another NBL1 North season for the South West Metro Pirates, where he averaged just under 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game.
Patterson lining up in the NBL1.
Patterson seems open to a return to the NBL, where he most recently lined up with the Bullets in 2022.
He was an MVP finalist during the NBL20 season, averaging 21.4 points, 6 rebounds and 4.5 assists a game.
Patterson would be a solid option for an injury replacement role or as a an experienced presence around a club chasing an extra scoring punch.
When you look around the league, there are certainly a couple of teams who could use that added firepower and experience on their bench unit, but only a few have open import spots remaining.
Since he arrived in Australia for the 2019 season, the now 33-year-old has remained in the country to play in the NBL1 season each year, which could mean Australian citizenship eligibility is not far away too.
