Clark "ready to sign" on with Hawks

Monday, February 26, 2024
Illawarra star Gary Clark has revealed he is prepared to extend his stay at the Hawks.
Gary Clark has been a revelation since arriving in the NBL at the start of the season, and the recently nominated All-NBL First Team member has revealed he’s targeting extending his stay in Wollongong into NBL25.
The former Houston Rocket was named as the Hawks’ NBL24 MVP and Fans Choice MVP at the club’s awards night on Thursday, where it was also announced interim head coach Justin Tatum had agreed to a three-year contract extension with the club.
The Illawarra Mercury has reported discussions between Clark’s management and the Hawks organisation are ongoing, and that a long-term deal could potentially be placed on the table.
Clark said he’s ready to sign if an agreement can be made.
“Hopefully Mat (Campbell) and those guys can get it done, because I'm ready to sign a paper today if my agent and them came to an agreement. I think the main priority right now is winning games and everything else handles itself,” Clark said.
"I love this place, I love Illawarra, I love Wollongong.”
Wani Swaka Lo Buluk was also named the club’s Defensive Player of the Year, while Dan Grida was named Player's Player of the Year and was the recipient of the club’s Community Award.
