Breakers provide update on Tacko Fall NBL future

Tuesday, October 8, 2024
"We would love for him to be part of the Breakers at some point."
Any hope of NBL fans seeing Tacko Fall in action during the New Zealand Breakers’ NBLxNBA tour are now over, after the 7’6 big man was ruled out of the last two games with a quad injury.
“I feel for him that he can’t get out on the floor,” Breakers’ owner Matt Walsh told NBL Media.
“He signed with us with the anticipation that he was going to get a chance to expose himself to these NBA teams.”
While Fall already missed New Zealand’s first game of the tour against the Utah Jazz, the talk of him potentially joining the team to complete the rest of the NBL season continued to grow.

However, Walsh has shut down that possibility for this season but has left the door open for a relationship to continue between the club and Fall sometime in the future.
“There was some speculation…but we are very happy with Freddie (Gillespie),” Walsh said.
“He’s the best professional and he’s an incredible guy.
"We’re going to work with his (Fall's) agent to see what it could mean next season or in the future. That’s all a work in progress.
“You never really know what the future holds. We would love for him to be part of the Breakers at some point.”
