"Aron’s still always going to be a Bullet. He’s still always going to have some involvement with the club."

Aron Baynes’ 47-game stint with the Brisbane Bullets has come to a close, with Justin Schueller confirming he won’t return for NBL25.

One of the stars of the Australian Boomers over the past decade and a veteran of 576 NBA games across five different clubs, Baynes joined the Bullets ahead of the 2022/2023 season.

He averaged 11.7 points and 7.8 rebounds a game in his first year, but saw a reduction in his minutes across NBL24, with the likes of Tyrell Harrison and Rocco Zikarsky finding more time in the rotation.

“We’ve locked our roster away and I think Baynsey’s enjoying retirement or a bit of extra spare time,” Schueller said.

“We look forward to ‘Big Banga’ being around games once we get back to Brisbane Entertainment Centre.”

Baynes was an NBA champion with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014 and also enjoyed incredible success during his time in Europe, playing in Lithuania, Germany, Greece and Slovenia.

“Aron’s still always going to be a Bullet. He’s still always going to have some involvement with the club,” Schueller added.
