NBL Next Star Rayan Rupert wants to be back playing with the New Zealand Breakers as early as the beginning of January.

NBL Next Star Rayan Rupert is looking to be back on the court as early as the beginning of January as he looks to shake off his long-standing wrist injury.

Rupert has been sidelined since picking up the injury in Round 6.

With his cast now off, Rupert is back in the gym with his teammates and rebuilding the strength in injured wrist.

“First time in the gym today with my right hand and it feels good,” Rupert said.

“My goal is to start at the beginning of January. I can’t wait to be back on the court with my teammates.”

Before his injury Rupert was gaining momentum in the league, with his NBA draft stock growing after every performance.

Whilst being sidelined, Rupert has been working on his left-hand skills and now claims he is a “better player”.

“I think I’m a better player because I’ve been working very hard with my left hand, two or three hours a day so my left hand is good,” he said.
