Next Stars named to Emus squad

Wednesday, February 12, 2025
The Australian Emus squad for the 2025 U19 World Cup has been revealed.
Two NBL Next Stars have been selected in the Australian Emus squad for the 2025 U19 World Cup in Switzerland later this year.
Next Stars Rocco Zikarsky (Brisbane Bullets) and the newly signed Dash Daniels (Melbourne United) will join South East Melbourne development player Luke Fennell for the initial training camp from March 17-20, where the final 12 players will be selected.
Former Sydney Kings assistant coach Robbie McKinlay will lead the selection process and coach the finalised team, alongside former Illawarra Hawks head coach Jacob Jackomas and current Hawks assistant coach Joel Khlau.
“This is the start of the journey towards the World Cup so it’s an exciting time for these young players,” McKinlay said.
"We are looking forward to having such a deep and versatile group in camp.”
Zikarsky hasn't played since January 11 due to injury.
The U19 World Cup will take place from June 28th to July 6th.
