Former Melbourne United forward Jack White has joined an illustrious list of talent following Denver’s NBA title win, and has become just the third player to win both an NBL and NBA championship in his career.

White was signed on a two-way contract by the Nuggets ahead of the current NBA season and made 17 appearances for the newly crowned champions in his debut campaign.

He also played 14 games for Denver’s G-League associate – the Grand Rapids Gold – where he averaged 20.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

White earned his NBA opportunity off the back of two seasons with Melbourne United. He was forced to sit out the latter half of the club’s NBL title-winning campaign in 2021 with a ruptured Achilles – however prior to the injury he was averaging 2.4 blocks per game.

He then played 26 games across the NBL22 season in which United fell in the semi-finals to Tasmania.

White joins NBL legend Andrew Gaze and former Sydney and Adelaide import Ian Clark as the only players to have won a title in each competition.

Gaze won championships with the Melbourne Tigers in 1993 and 1997 before earning an NBA ring with San Antonio in 1999, while Clark was a member of the all-conquering 2017 Golden State Warriors.

He then joined Sydney mid-way through its successful NBL22 season.
