The NBL’s incoming class of collegiate players are currently dotted around the world ahead of their first ever professional basketball seasons.
Brisbane’s Josh Bannan is currently working out with the Indiana Pacers, Adelaide’s Keanu Rasmussen has returned home and is hitting his straps with Sturt in NBL1 Central, while Melbourne’s Flynn Cameron is completing his studies in California.
The worldwide nature of pathways to the professional game makes it difficult for players to properly connect with their new teammates, but Cameron says he’s already linked up with a fellow Melbourne signing.
“I met Luke Travers for the first time the other day,” Cameron told MU Media. “It was cool to connect – I like his game a lot.
“I have seen him play in the NBL a lot, but to meet face-to-face and get to know a new teammate is always cool. I think we’ll link up well on the court.
“It’s a new adventure, a new opportunity to look forward to. My motivation has always been there but since I signed, the training has gone to another level.”

Cameron is one of a host of new signings made by Dean Vickerman and Melbourne United ahead of the upcoming season.
He’s joined by fellow emerging talents Luke Travers and Kyle Bowen on the roster for NBL24, along with internationally renowned stars Matthew Dellavedova and Jo Lual-Acuil Jr.
Olympic bronze medalist Chris Goulding has remained on the roster, as has two-time NBL champion and former Sixth Man of the Year, Shea Ili.
“It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to be part of this team,” he continued.
“I’m just glad to be around players who have made a huge impact on the NBL and on leagues around the world.
“I know I’m going to take it all in to learn and grow in a new environment while playing for this club.”
