Two-time champion heads to the 'heartland'

Wednesday, April 17, 2024
Angus Glover has signed a two-year deal with the South East Melbourne Phoenix.
Two-time NBL champion Angus Glover has signed a two-year deal with the South East Melbourne Phoenix following the earlier buyout of the final year of his contract with the Sydney Kings.
The Kings announced Glover’s departure from the club in early April following 90 games across four seasons that included back-to-back titles in NBL22 and NBL23.
The 25-year-old represented the Illawarra Hawks prior to his time with Sydney and overcame numerous serious injuries to become a crucial cog in those title-winning sides with the Kings.
He fell out of favour with former Sydney head coach Mahmoud Abdelfattah during NBL24 though, and averaged 5.3 points per game across 27 appearances in the season.
"Angus brings a multitude of skills on both sides of the ball, toughness and championship-winning experience,” General Manager of Basketball Operations Simon Mitchell said.
“We look forward to Angus joining the team and getting to work with Mike Kelly and the rest of the squad.”
Glover has joined Nathan Sobey as new signings for NBL24.
