Thomas to Return for Wildcats

Perth Wildcats head coach John Rillie has all but confirmed injured centre TaShawn Thomas will return to the court this weekend, with the import centre in the final stages of shaking off the ankle injury picked up in his side’s round two win over Illawarra.

Thomas faced a late fitness test as he bid to be classed as fit to play for last week’s narrow home loss to Melbourne United, but it was decided he’d remain sidelined for another week.

Rillie says he remains confident in Thomas’ ability to front up against the JackJumpers on Saturday.

“I’m always positive about this stuff,” Rillie told SEN. “I’m confident he’ll play this week.

“At the end of last week he was moving really well. He could beat me in a foot race so his speed was back.

“Hopefully moving forward we should have him back pretty soon.”

NBL veteran Majok Majok has started Perth’s last two games in the absence of Thomas.
