The rising Fall

“I’ve never played with someone like Tacko before."

It may have come in a loss, but the New Zealand Breakers saw the very best of Tacko Fall against the Perth Wildcats on Sunday.

“Tacko is a special kind of player,” Breakers coach Petteri Koponen said post-game.

Fall had 28 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in the loss, but it was his first half performance which was most dominant.

“You have to play kind of one way with him as he’s an instant threat under the basket,” Koponen added.

“He’s getting better day by day and he had an amazing game tonight.”

The Breakers have limited time to rest and recover as they head over to Brisbane to face the Bullets on Wednesday.

Captain Mitch McCarron, who has seen his role increase with the suspension of Parker Jackson-Cartwright, is enjoying playing alongside his star big man.

“I’ve never played with someone like Tacko before,” McCarron said.

“He’s 7 foot 6 and a guy who is a constant threat and someone you just have to look for every time down the floor.

“The impact he had tonight was massive…he’s got great hands, great timing and a great tough so we just got to keep going in to him whenever we can.”
