NBL25 Heritage Round jerseys revealed

Wednesday, December 4, 2024
Set to be celebrated in Round 11, Heritage Round, presented by Mitsubishi, will see all clubs wear heritage-inspired jerseys.
The deep and rich heritage of the NBL will be celebrated across the next few weeks, with Heritage Round, presented by Mitsubishi Motors.
Tipping off on Thursday when the Illawarra Hawks donned their iconic jerseys from the 1998/99 season, and continuing all the way until mid-December, Heritage Round will give fans the opportunity to relive, reminisce, and pay tribute to the storied history of their club.
The Hawks and Cairns Taipans will wear Heritage uniforms in Round 10, before all home clubs follow suit in Round 11.
The New Zealand Breakers and Sydney Kings will wear their Heritage jerseys in Round 12.
Earlier this season the Tasmania JackJumpers wore the striking yellow, red and green uniforms of the 1981 Launceston Casino City championship team, and those jerseys will return during Heritage Round.

Adelaide will honour the club’s inaugural season in 1983, when the Adelaide City Eagles became the 36ers.
The red, blue and yellow will pay tribute to the pioneers of the club who played as the 36ers in 1983 and 1984.
Brisbane's jersey celebrates the 40th anniversary of the 1985 Championship, and the players who played a special part in the team's memorable run.
A tribute to the Taipans' legendary 2004 team. This jersey celebrates the team's alternate kit from this era, while showcasing the retro team logo on the chest.
A tribute to the club's 1998/1999 run as the then Wollongong Hawks. Celebrates the team's iconic jersey from back then— black, red and teal—featuring the classic red pinstripes and teal accents , while showcasing the retro team icon on the chest that gives a nod to this team from the past.
A nod to the uniform worn in the club's inaugural season, 10 years ago.
The 2014 uniform, also worn during an NBL Heritage Round, paid tribute to the 1953 Victorian State Team.
The heritage jersey is inspired by the Breakers’ 2010/11 season, which marked the club’s first NBL championship title.
"2010 was a defining moment for the Breakers. It wasn’t just about lifting that trophy - it was about the belief that we could stand toe-to-toe with the best. That spirit continues to fuel the club now," former Breakers star Tom Abercrombie said.
Celebrating the 30-year anniversary of the club's ‘95 championship victory, which included legendary names like Andrew Vlahov, James Crawford, Ricky Grace and Scott Fisher who all now have their jersey numbers hanging in the rafters at RAC Arena, the Wildcats are bringing back the iconic kit.
The giant Wildcat on the front is back, as is the claw mark on the throwback black-and-red design in a fitting reminder of the epic grand final series victory over North Melbourne Giants.
The Phoenix will pay tribute to the South East Melbourne Magic, who competed in the NBL from 1992-1998, winning two championships in '92 and '96.
The Magic played in an impressive seven finals' series throughout their time in the league, and were coached by one of the greatest of all-time, Brian Goorjian.
The Kings will turn back the clock and honour the club's 1996 team.
The design, worn by the likes of Isaac Burton, Bruce Bolden and Brad Rosen, signified a new era of Kings basketball ahead of the 1996 season - headlined by the first time the club's uniforms weren't white, purple or gold.
The JackJumpers are paying homage to the 1981 Launceston team by unveiling a modernised version of their iconic championship-winning uniform.
Launceston Casino City had an unforgettable, albeit brief, run in the NBL. Formed in 1980, the team won the NBL championship in 1981 and then folded in 1982—a hectic three-year period.
