Tasmania JackJumpers star Josh Magette will undergo surgery to repair his broken cheekbone and fractured eye socket this week.
Magette copped an accidental knock to the face while defending Illawarra's Will Hickey during Saturday's game.
“It’s been a crazy couple of days, but I’ve now seen the specialist and will have surgery on Thursday so hopefully be back on the mend soon. Thanks to everyone for all the calls, the texts, the messages… I really appreciate it,” he said on the club's website.

The club said Magette "will be assessed following surgery with his long term recovery and ongoing welfare the JackJumpers' highest priority".
Tasmania will be sweating on the fitness of several of its stars, with Clint Steindl undergoing an MRI on his hip, prior to travelling to Melbourne for the NBL MVP Awards. He will be assessed after arriving in Cairns on Wednesday.
Will Magnay suffered a knock to the mouth in the Round 18 clash with the Hawks, but will suit up for Thursday’s Play-In tournament game.
