Tasmania JackJumpers captain Clint Steindl has signed a two-year extension with the club

Despite being sidelined through injury for the entirety of NBL23 so far, Tasmania JackJumpers captain Clint Steindl has signed a two-year extension with the club – taking his contract through to the culmination of the 2024/25 season.

Steindl has played a key role in the JackJumpers organisation since its inception into the NBL. He averaged just under 10 points per game on 40 per cent shooting in Tasmania’s run to the grand final last year.

Previously a two-time NBL champion with Perth and the league’s Most Improved Player in 2016, Steindl says he’s excited to continue raising his family in Tasmania.

“I’m really proud of the foundations we’ve been able to lay as well as the values we’ve instilled – and ultimately the culture we’re building moving forward,” Steindl told the JackJumpers website.

“It’s an incredible place to play and be involved in the community Tasmania as a whole has provided my family and I with an incredible experience.

“Kayla and I have recently added to our young family and we’re excited to have our children grow up alongside the JackJumpers family.”

Head coach Scott Roth says Steindl has been a crucial facet of forming the club’s famous culture.

“Clint is a really important part of our program both on and off the floor,” Roth said.

“He’s our captain for a very good reason. [He’s] a leader in everything he does – he sets the highest standards for himself and all our guys.

“We’re really happy that he’s happy here and we’re grateful to have his experience to further progress [his teammates] as players, and as good people.”
