Cairns, New Zealand Clinch Finals Spots

From last and second last in NBL22 to clinching spots in finals the following season, it's been an incredible transformation for both New Zealand and Cairns.

The Breakers and Taipans have now locked in their spots in the top six, and are likely to battle it out for second and third place.

Cairns has been victorious in 17 games from their 26, while New Zealand has won 16, but has a superior percentage (107.75/103.13), if they can make up a game on their rivals.

While the Sydney Kings have set the pace for much of the season and look the team to beat, an incredible last week looms in the regular season. 

Eight teams are still in the mix for finals, although Adelaide would need a minor miracle to advance.

On Sunday, Tasmania (sixth) and Perth (fourth) face off in Hobart, while Sydney (first) and South East Melbourne (fifth) do battle in the harbour city. 

A win for the Phoenix would see them secure their spot in the top six.
