Shaun Bruce has signed a two-year extension with the Sydney Kings.

Sydney captain Shaun Bruce will continue his career with the club in NBL25 and beyond, after signing a new two-year deal.

Bruce, who played for Cairns, Brisbane and Adelaide prior to arriving at the Kings ahead of NBL20, established himself as a key piece under former head coach Chase Buford, and has since become a fan-favourite due to his role in the club’s back-to-back titles in NBL22 and NBL23.

The 33-year-old has played almost 150 games for the club and averaged 4.1 points per game this past season.

"I'm very excited to re-sign in Sydney," Bruce said. "I've really loved my time here in Sydney and there's nowhere else I'd rather play, so it was an easy decision.

"The expectation in Sydney is to win every year and next season is no different. While last season was a little down, our expectation doesn't change - we'll all use this time to refresh before coming back with the mindset to win another title.

"That's what I love about the Kings, they put you in a position from day one and now with Goorj, it'll be no different and I can't wait.""It's been a fun ride so far and I'm excited to see how far we can push it in the coming years."

Kings CEO Chris Pongrass says it was an easy decision to re-sign the veteran guard.

"Brucey is entrenched in this club’s DNA and someone we want around long into the future," Pongrass said.

"He is a veteran leader, a competitor and an irreplaceable piece of our group.

"There wasn’t even a question about him returning, we were all aligned in making it happen."

Bruce has joined Alex Toohey, Angus Glover, Jackson Makoi and Klairus Amir on the Kings' NBL25 roster.
