The Brisbane Bullets have announced another big addition for NBL23 and beyond, with former National Football League star player Vernon Davis joining the club’s ownership group.
Davis had an outstanding NFL career spanning 14 years, which included winning a Super Bowl and two NFL Pro Bowl selections.
Since his career ended, Davis has transitioned into an astute businessman, as well as an actor and producer.
“I’m excited to be joining the Brisbane Bullets organisation as a minority owner,” Davis said.
“Basketball was the first sport that I played growing up, and it has always been a passion of mine to be connected to the sport.
“Being part of this amazing ownership group provides me the opportunity to be involved in professional basketball in a meaningful way.
“Moreover, my interest and business in real estate will prove beneficial with the Summer Olympics coming to Brisbane in 2032, as we will look to delve into developing in the city leading up to the Olympics”.
Davis’ addition to the ownership group caps a big fortnight for the Bullets, following the signing of Australian star Aron Baynes and import Tyler Johnson to the team’s roster.
“We are so excited to welcome Vernon to the Bullets family,” Brisbane's managing co-owners Jason Levien and Jake Silverstein said.
“Vernon’s career on and off the field has been very impressive, and as we have gotten to know him and become friends, we recognised that partnering on this project was a natural fit. We are very excited to have him as part of our ownership group.”
