Cairns Taipans' Taran Armstrong will miss Round 4 due to a Grade 1 sprain in his ankle.

After a huge Round 3, the Cairns Taipans' main man Taran Armstrong will miss Round 4's crucial double-header.

Armstrong rolled his ankle in the pre-game warmup against Melbourne United on Sunday, and was later diagnosed with a Grade 1 sprain.

The Cairns young gun was a crucial part of his team's 2-0 weekend, resulting in a killer 3-1 start to NBL25. He will be a game-day decision ahead of Round 5.

Import Tanner Groves has also been ruled of Round 4, suffering a calf injury that is set to see him on the sidelines for another three to four weeks.

The Taipans next face the Perth Wildcats on Thursday night at 7:30pm AEDT, live on ESPN via Kayo.
