Perth Wildcats GM of Basketball Operations Danny Mills has revealed the club is “very close” to striking a new contract agreement with superstar Bryce Cotton.

The West Australian has revealed the three-time MVP has an out clause for next season, but Mills has reaffirmed both sides are moving closer to a new deal.

“We are in deep discussions with Bryce and his representation,” Mills told The West Australian’s The Dribble podcast.

“Bryce is special. He’s clearly an individual we want to build the club around on the court.

“We feel like with Bryce, he’s in his prime, we want him in Perth, we feel like he wants to stay and hope to come to an agreement very, very shortly.”

Cotton had another sensational season for the Wildcats, leading the league in scoring at 22.7 points per game.
