Perth star Corey Webster has assured the ‘Cats are determined to begin a new finals streak by winning their remaining two games of the regular season.

To guarantee a seat in the play-in tournament, the Wildcats need to win their two matches this round, which would start a new postseason streak for the club, after its 35-year run ended last year.

Webster iterated the need to be head strong in their upcoming games against the top two teams in the league, the Cairns Taipans and Sydney Kings.

“One game at a time and if we take care of that, it should fall in our favour,” Webster said.

“We all know our roles, I think we’re all well prepared for the minutes we’re going to play and what happens.

“Just control, and trying to stay healthy, that’s a big one for us when you’re trying to play big minutes.”

The mighty ‘Cats have won three of their last five games heading into Round 18.

After a slip-up against the JackJumpers last week, Webster acknowledged the West Australian side is ready to bounce back.

“We’ve done well so far, obviously we didn’t get the results we wanted last week,” he said.

“We all know our roles, I think we’re all well prepared for the minutes we’re going to play and what happens.”

The ‘Cats face the Snakes on Friday night at 9:30pm AEDT before they host the Kings on Sunday at 4:00pm AEDT.
