Incoming Tasmania JackJumpers import Ian Hummer believes he will be "great" for the defending champions, as he replaces the released Craig Sword.
Coming off a short stint in Japan's B.League after two seasons in Europe, the timing couldn't be more fitting for the 34-year-old Hummer to join Tasmania.
“I knew coming out of this season I would have to wait a couple of months to get the right offer...this offer was a no-brainer," Hummer said via NewsCorp.
Hummer averaged 7.9 points and 4.9 rebounds for Osaka Evessa, and he says he can contribute to the JackJumpers in a variety of ways.
“I’ve had some very good offensive seasons but I shine on the defensive end. I usually guard one through five with no real let down," he said.
“I’m an assist player, always looking for the right pass, right shot. Always supporting my teammate if one is struggling.
“Put me on the floor, keep me in space and moving and I’ll be great for you.”
Hummer is expected to debut on December 23 against Melbourne United.
