Vickerman Provides Barlow, Humphries Injury Update

Wednesday, January 11, 2023

Two key pieces for Melbourne United, big Isaac Humphries and forward David Barlow, have been ruled out of round 15, and it is uncertain when they will be back on the court.

Isaac Humphries and David Barlow have been ruled out of Melbourne United's Round 15 clashes by head coach Dean Vickerman, and it;s currently uncertain when the pair will be back on the court.

Humphries and Barlow both suffered injuries in Saturday's last gasp win over Tasmania. Humphries was forced from the court with a knee complaint while Barlow collected a stray elbow to the head.

Vickerman says he hopes Humphries will be able to take to the court again in NBL23.

“'Ice' has got a strain of his knee, but there’s a good chance he will be back before the end of the season,” Vickerman said.

Barlow suffered a concussion as a result of the elbow to the head and will spend the required time going through the league's concussion protocols before being considered for a return.

“Barlow with mild concussion symptoms will miss these next two games and it will be assessed after that for his return,” Vickerman said.

Melbourne United play the New Zealand Breakers on Thursday at 5:30pm AEDT.
