Melbourne United has signed 20-year-old guard Campbell Blogg as a development player for NBL24.

Melbourne United has signed 19-year-old guard Campbell Blogg as a development player for NBL24 following a season with the side as a train-on player.

Blogg captains NBL1 South side Sandringham, and registed 21 points, five rebounds and four assists against the Nick Marshall led Mount Gambier in their opening clash of the season.

Melbourne veteran David Barlow coaches Blogg at the Sabres, where he also plays alongside former United forward David Okwera.

"I'm on top of the world. It's the best feeling ever," Blogg said.

"Six months ago I was committed to a junior college in America, but when the opportunity to stay in Melbourne and be with United as a training player came up, I couldn't turn it down.

"I think that was the best decision I've ever made."

Through time together at both United and the Sabres, NBL veteran and former Boomer David Barlow has had a front row seat to witness Blogg's development over the last 12 months.

"He's a natural leader," Barlow said. "His understanding of how to be a professional, how to operate in a team environment is massive.

"He's an intelligent kid who has bought into our progam. He's naturally an incredibly skillful player.

"I'm really excited to see him get this opportunity, and I'm proud of the work he's put in to get here."
