Travers to sign two-way NBA deal

Thursday, August 29, 2024
Luke Travers is set to live out his NBA dream, signing a two-way deal with the team that drafted him in 2022.
Former Melbourne United and Perth Wildcats star Luke Travers is headed to the NBA on a two-way deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Travers' agent Daniel Moldovan confirmed the news to NBL Media on Thursday.
"Really happy for Luke. He did it the hard way," Moldovan said.
"(He) started as a development player and climbed his way to the NBA ... just a great example for Aussie kids that anything is possible if you work hard enough."
The news was first reported by ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski via X.
"Australian guard Luke Travers has agreed on a two-way deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his agent Daniel Moldovan tells ESPN. Travers was the 56th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and had been playing with Melbourne of the NBL," he said.

Travers took a massive leap in his production in NBL24, averaging 12.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and a steal a game in Melbourne.
Previous to that, he played four seasons with the Perth Wildcats.
The 22-year-old has represented the Cavaliers at the last three NBA Summer League tournaments and patiently bided his time for an opportunity in the NBA.
