New Zealand has defeated Japan in the second of two pre-World Cup clashes against the nation.

New Zealand has split its pair of pre-World Cup friendlies against Japan, with a 19-point win over the weekend.

The Tall Blacks had lost to Japan by seven points just days prior, despite their strong start to the contest.

Both games were played in Ota City, Tokyo, with New Zealand now heading to Turkey to continue its pre-tournament preparations.

South East Melbourne’s Reuben Te Rangi top scored for his side with 20 points, while Izayah Le’Afa and Flynn Cameron each had 15 points of their own.

Returning Breaker Finn Delany followed his strong showing from the first clash with 13 points in game two.

The side will finalise its pre-tournament preparations and 12-man roster at the FIBA SuperCup, where they will compete against Canada, China, and host side Germany.

The current extended squad includes members from six NBL sides, but is still yet to be trimmed from 15 players to the final 12.
