Jordon Crawford made his first appearance in JackJumpers green on Monday night, and Tasmania assistant Mark Radford saw enough to state the import has the potential to be “one of the better players in the competition”.

Crawford added 15 points in 21 minutes of action in the first pre-season meeting between Tasmania and Melbourne, and the teams are set to clash once more on Wednesday night.

He’s arrived in the NBL with serious European pedigree, having finished last season’s top scorer in the Turkish Basketball League.

“It was really positive to see Jordon Crawford first-hand. He had a nice night to get his JackJumpers career started,” Radford told The Mercury.

“He’s an outstanding basketball player and we expect him to be one of the better players in the competition.”
