Taipans struck by injury bite

The Cairns Taipans continue to be struck down by injury, with Next Star Bobi Klintman the latest player forced to the sidelines.

Klintman will be out until Round 8 with a hip complaint, joining import Patrick Miller on the injury list.

Miller is expected to return next Thursday against Perth, while Lachlan Anderson (back) returns to the active roster.

At Illawarra, Mason Peatling will play just his third game in Hawks colours, having overcome a cheekbone fracture.

Teammate Todd Blanchfield will miss the trip to Cairns, due to personal reasons.

The South East Melbourne Phoenix are set to welcome back Will Cummings for the Throwdown on Sunday, while JackJumpers fans' long wait is over, with Will Magnay returning this weekend from a foot injury.
