Former Brisbane star Nathan Sobey has taken to social media to thank the Bullets for his five seasons at the club.

Former Brisbane star Nathan Sobey has issued a farewell to his former club on social media following the announcement he would not be returning to the Bullets for NBL25.

News broke of Sobey’s impending departure from the Bullets during the NBL24 Championship Series, and just the day after he was named the club’s season MVP.

South East Melbourne has been reported as the most likely destination for the former MVP candidate and All-NBL24 Second team nominee on The Marketplace.

“Thank you, Brisbane,” Sobey wrote.

“Brisbane has been a wonderful home and given my family lifelong friends and memories that will stick with us forever.

“Thank you to all the amazing fans for your support, my teammates over the years, staff, and everyone behind the scenes.

“We had an amazing five years.”

Prior to signing for the Bullets, Sobey appeared in one season with Cairns, and four seasons with Adelaide.

Sobey and current South East Melbourne captain Mitch Creek were both part of the 36ers side that contested the NBL18 Championship Series against Melbourne United, alongside NBL24 champions Majok Deng and Anthony Drmic.
