Sobey Backs Bullets' Resurgence

Saturday, February 25, 2023
Brisbane Bullets’ guard Nathan Sobey is adamant that newly appointed Bullets head coach Justin Schueller will bring a lot to the Bullets table next season.
Brisbane Bullets’ guard Nathan Sobey is adamant his team can bounce back from a forgettable NBL23 campaign.
Touted as one of the championship favourites ahead of the season, the Bullets won just eight games and stumbled to second last on the standings at the end of the regular season.
But it's not all doom and gloom.
Brisbane has already welcomed in new head coach Justin Schueller, and just announced the appointment of Darryl McDonald as an assistant.
“The direction is the first thing, we’ve just got to get on the right page with that and I think he’s going to do a great job at that,” Sobey said of Schueller.
“He brings in a connection with the younger Australian players up-and-coming which helps with us in Brisbane ... then also having (had) huge success in Melbourne.”
Sobey was one of the Bullets' best performers this season, averaging 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists across 28 games.
