Sixers sign hometown college talent

Wednesday, May 22, 2024
Ben Griscti has signed a three-year deal with the Adelaide 36ers.
The Adelaide 36ers are bringing one of South Australia’s top collegiate players home for NBL25 and beyond, signing center Bren Griscti to a three-year deal.
Griscti moved to UC Riverside – who also boasts Melbourne guard Flynn Cameron amongst its recent alumni – for the 2023-24 season following two years at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.
The 211cm center started 19 of 33 games for Riverside this past season, where he averaged 7.8 points per game on 49.5 per cent shooting.
Head coach Scott Ninnis says he's excited to have added another South Australian to the club's ranks.
“Ben is a great prospect for the club and it’s important we have lured another local kid back home to the 36ers,” Ninnis said.
“I’m excited to see Ben grow with his skillset across NBL25, especially going against a marquee big man in Isaac Humphries every day on the training court.”
"This signing was really important for us, we see Ben as a big piece for the club moving forward,” GM of Basketball Operations Matt Weston added.
“Ben is 211cm, is strong at both ends of the floor, but also has the ability to step out and knock down the three, which is what all teams require now from that position.”
Griscti now joins DJ Vasiljevic, Isaac Humphries, Jason Cadee, Nick Marshall, Sunday Dech, Alex Starling, Lat Mayen and Jacob Rigoni as contracted players for the NBL25 season.
