Michael Frazier II has added to the Illawarra Hawks' nightmare run, sidelined for the remainder of the season with a left forearm injury.

Frazier II was hurt during an innocuous collision with two Adelaide 36ers' players late in the Hawks' game on Friday night, and didn't return to the court thereafter.

The club has since confirmed he faces a four-to-six week spell on the sidelines, effectively ending his season.

It's another bitter blow for the Hawks, who have lost four imports throughout the year - Justin Robinson (knee), Peyton Siva (shoulder), George King (ankle) and now Frazier II have all suffered serious injuries throughout NBL23.

Hawks GM of Basketball Mat Campbell said it was another tough piece of news in an already challenging season.

"The news of Michael's injury was disappointing for the club and player," he told the club's website

"Michael has been nothing short of outstanding from the minute he walked into the Snakepit. His work ethic, commitment to his craft, and willingness to do whatever his coaches and teammates asked of him is a credit to his character, and the professional Michael is.

"Michael quickly made himself a fan favourite amongst the Hawks faithful. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the court in the coming months.

"While results haven't gone our way, we are buoyed by the group's resilience, and they continue to compete at a high level with some of the best teams in the competition. Through adversity comes opportunity, and we are confident we will continue to see our young group develop over the remaining four weeks of the NBL season."

Illawarra currently sits last on the NBL standings, with just two wins from 20 games.
