Schueller's Savage obsession

Wednesday, May 8, 2024
Kye Savage will embark on his professional career with the Brisbane in NBL25, but he's been on Justin Schueller's radar for some time.
Justin Schueller’s prerogative since arriving at the Brisbane Bullets has been to rebuild the club’s culture. He’s gone some way to achieving that after one season at the helm, and he believes new signing Kye Savage fits his idea of the club’s future.
Savage, 18, signed a three-year deal with the Bullets that will see him enter the program as a development player. The third year of the contract contains a club option to elevate Savage to the main roster.
“We feel like he’s got levels above this league in him and that’s going to be the exciting part, how he progresses to achieve those goals while helping us as a collective get our goals along the way,” Schuller told The Mercury.
“Kye has shown from day one working with us at under-17 level he already has that Bullets way about him.
“What I love about Kye is he’s not willing to skip steps to chase his dreams, that’s what we’re most excited about with him and we can’t wait for him to work with us.”
