Rob Edwards sanction handed down

Basketball Australia has released its findings following a review of Rob Edwards' actions in Round 6.

Basketball Australia has released the following statement, after a review of the Round 6 game between the Cairns Taipans and Melbourne United.

Basketball Australia's Integrity Unit have concluded their investigation and the Cairns Taipans have accepted a sanction for the behaviour of player Rob Edwards post-game versus Melbourne United on Sunday 27 October 2024.

Edwards' actions and comments towards referees in the change room facilities post-game were a breach of the Code of Conduct for Elite Participants and a two-match suspension (one match wholly suspended) has been accepted by Cairns and Edwards. Edwards will serve the one game suspension on Sunday 10 November 2024.

No further comment will be made by Cairns, NBL or BA on this matter.
