New Zealand Breakers fans saw the NBL-record crowd set on Friday night in Sydney, and let their own feet do the talking in Game 4 by setting a team attendance record at Spark Arena.

9,742 fans made the journey to the stadium to cheer on the home side as they looked to keep the series alive. Such was the immense interest in tickets for the do-or-die clash that Spark Arena added 600 more seats to the floorplan.

Yet another record attendance adds an exclamation point onto the growth of the competition in recent seasons – with overall attendances this season the highest they’ve been since 1996.

The Breakers emerged from the contest with a hard-fought 10-point win over the Kings.

Jarrell Brantley and Barry Brown Jr both surpassed 20 points apiece for the home side, while 2011 Grand Final MVP and 15-year Breakers veteran Tom Abercrombie rolled back the years with six steals.

"For Breaker nation, this was our last home game of the year regardless of the result," coach Mody Maor said.

"It was one of our biggest goals to put a team on the floor that the fans in New Zealand feel represents them the right way, resonates with them. The way we do things ... something that they feel connected to.

"I was told that this was the most people to ever come to an indoor sporting event in New Zealand. I’m humbled and grateful, and we’re going to keep doing everything we can to represent them the right way."

Game 5 will see the Breakers and Kings return to Sydney, with a packed out Qudos Bank Arena yet again expected.

You can catch the game live and free on ESPN via Kayo Freebies, and Sky Sport and Prime in New Zealand.
