Phoenix shore up NBL25 roster

The South East Melbourne Phoenix are a step closer to locking in their roster for NBL25, with Jordan Hunter’s Asia-out clause reportedly expiring.

New signings Hunter and Derrick Walton Jr are now officially set to line up in Phoenix colours, with Mike Kelly’s team undergoing significant change throughout the off-season.

Alongside the former Kings pair, championship teammate Angus Glover will also play in the Heartland, while Nathan Sobey makes the move from the Brisbane Bullets.

More recently, two-time championship player Tom Vodanovich joined the club, providing valuable depth behind Mitch Creek.

After a disappointing NBL24 campaign, South East Melbourne looks set for a rise up the standings, with Kelly targeting shooting depth with his remaining roster spots.

The out clause on new South East Melbourne big man Jordi Hunter’s contract expired today, meaning the highly-rated big man will suit up for the Phoenix in NBL25. He and import Derrick Walton Jr had out clauses, both of which have now expired. 2 imports and a Next Star to go.
