“No team wanna play us” says 36ers star

As the Adelaide 36ers make a late charge for a Finals spot, star point guard Kendric Davis has declared “no team in the league really wanna play us”.

The 36ers defeated the Illawarra Hawks 91-88 on Monday night, the third time this season Adelaide has taken down the league leaders. 

Despite sitting in 8th spot with a 10-12 record, Davis remains confident in his squad making the post-season and believes a full strength 36ers is the NBL’s best team.

“Illawarra number one, right? We beat them three times, so what that tell you?” Davis said.

“We just got to be consistent, that’s it. No team in the league really wanna play us. No team wanna play us, I don’t care who they is. 

“It’s all on us, we got to be consistent, and I think I like our chances. Everybody’s best shot vs our best shot, we the best team.”

Davis added Adelaide was “desperate for a win” after a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Tasmania JackJumpers last Friday night.  

Davis’ tremendous campaign continued on Monday night as he recorded 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
