New Zealand catches big Break

The New Zealand Breakers have confirmed the return of Will McDowell-White for this weekend’s Championship Series rematch against Sydney, following the guard’s month-long absence with a leg injury.

McDowell-White played the first half of the Breakers’ Round 8 clash with Tasmania, before it was confirmed he suffered a fractured fibula.

His return will likely coincide with Zylan Cheatham’s return to the court, following the import big’s elevation to the active roster last week.

Cheatham suited up for the game against Cairns on a “strict minutes restriction”, but didn’t see the floor.

In other news, Brisbane’s DJ Mitchell has been confirmed as missing the remainder of NBL24 following surgery on a hip injury, while Phoenix star Mitch Creek will likely be out for 10-14 days, as initially reported by Neroli Meadows.
