Tai and Corey Webster have had their playing futures decided, as the Free Agency period heats up.

Perth Wildcats fan-favourite Tai Webster’s club option has been picked up for the NBL25 season.

Webster joined Perth midway through the NBL23 season and averaged 8.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists across his most recent campaign.

“We’re excited to bring Tai back for NBL25 after proving to be a valuable contributor in his first full season as a Wildcat,” Wildcats General Manager of Basketball Operations, Danny Mills said.

“He’s a talented two-way guard who brings a great dynamic to our group both on and off the court, with his infectious energy and enthusiasm."

Corey Webster's club option was declined, with the three-time NBL champion set to depart the Wildcats after two seasons.

“Corey’s leadership, veteran experience and scoring ability has been a valued asset for the team the last two seasons, and he was a true professional and leader throughout his time with the organisation,” Mills said.

Webster fell out of favour across NBL24, logging a little over 13 minutes a game, having played more than 27 minutes a game the previous season.

He now becomes a free agent and is sure to attract plenty of interest from rival teams.

Kyle Zunic, who played 40 games for Perth, will also depart the club.

“Kyle has been a valued member of the organisation for the last three seasons he’s been here in Perth. He’s a high character young man who was well respected and popular amongst both his teammates and the staff,” Mills said.

“Whilst he didn’t get to see the on-court opportunities he would have liked, his work ethic, coach ability, and leadership never wavered, and we wish him nothing but the best with his future basketball endeavours.”
