Tasmania JackJumpers’ crowd energiser Jack McVeigh says he’s set to hype up the crowd tonight in Game 2 of their Playoff Series with the New Zealand Breakers.

Tasmania JackJumpers’ crowd energiser Jack McVeigh says he’s set to hype up the crowd tonight in Game 2 of their Playoff Series with the New Zealand Breakers.

McVeigh’s energy will be mirrored with the JackJumpers’ fans tonight as they face a win or go home scenario at MyState Bank Arena.

The JackJumpers lost 88-68 in Game 1 in New Zealand and McVeigh is happy the team will get to host a crucial game in Tasmania with the JackJumper faithful on their side.

“It’s exciting as it’s must-win basketball and where else would you rather be and what else would you rather be doing,” McVeigh said via The Mercury.

“I know for sure for me it’s playing must-win basketball games in this arena in front of these fans.

“Playing in front of these fans is my favourite thing in the whole world. I’ll get some waving going on and I’ll be beating my chest and we’ll see if they can answer the call.”

Last season the JackJumpers stunned Melbourne United in the Semi-Finals as they turned around their Game 1 loss to win the next two matches and knock United out of the Finals.

Hoping to recreate last year’s results, and with the Breakers’ 1-10 record at MyState Bank Arena, McVeigh assured the Tassie side will do everything to ensure New Zealand adds another loss at the venue.

“The energy in here [MyState Bank Arena] is going to be jumping and game two last year against United was something I’ll remember for the rest of my life…the crowd was so loud it was unbelievable,” he said.

The Breakers lead the series 1-0 and will advance to the Championship Series with a win, while the JackJumpers are out to force a decisive Game 3.

Tip-off is 7:30pm AEDT live and free on ESPN via Kayo Freebies.
